Australian Aboriginal Culture & Didgeridoo News and Articles:
Sandtraks, pathways to celebrating Indigenous culture
Launch of George Fallon's Sandtraks website.
A great way to promote understanding and respect in our society is to teach children. Their
behaviours as adults are likely to make the most difference because they have the most future.
They are the best communicators with other young people, Indigenous or non-Indigenous.
This constructive and positive approach is what we love to promote. More and more people are
realising the importance of that type of achievement and we wish George and his team all our best in their inspiring work!
"All children laugh and smile in the same way!"
The following is the message George Fallon sent to let us know about his project.
"I am a young self funded film maker who has filmed and produced an education package called Tribal Tucker for Indigenous and non-Indigenous school kids.
The package centers around a film which shows Indigenous kids learning their culture from their elders in modern society.
It features kids from two remote communities near Tennant Creek hunting, collecting and preparing bush tucker.
The film is supported by comprehensive teaching notes developed by Indigenous and non-Indigenous teachers from the Parramatta Catholic Education Office.
Tribal Tucker is the first in a planned series of resources celebrating Indigenous culture in communities all over Australia.
I believe that the right education at the right time fosters a society that values diversity.
Sandtracks education packages try to reach kids with positive messages before they have become affected by racism.
My dream is to increase understanding and respect for the beauty and wonder of Indigenous culture."
Thank you so much for your encouraging words and help.
Your response gives me a lot of encouragement". George Fallon
