Things are moving in the right direction towards a real reconciliation between indigenous and non-indigenous Australians. Many events, celebrations and ceremonies have taken place in the last 3-4 months.
The most significant and emotional were the "crossing of the bridges of reconciliation" ie. In Melbourne, nearly 400,000 peoples from all backgrounds and thinking have crossed a bridge representing closing the gap between all communities.
The wide Australian multicultural community seems to realise and acknowledge the "mistakes" of the past and appears to be ready to accept differences to look towards a new future of co-existence with the traditional inhabitants of this beautiful country of Australia.
